Delete your account

You can delete your Disturb Me Nots account yourself, at any time, without asking us. It takes about ten seconds and there is no waiting period.

Delete it in the app — fastest

1. Open Disturb Me Nots.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Open Settings.
4. Scroll to the Danger Zone and tap Delete My Account.
5. Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.

Cannot get into the app?

If you have lost access to your account or removed the app already, email us and we will delete it for you.

Email a deletion request

Send it from the email address on the account — that is how we verify the request is really yours. If you cannot, tell us your user code (shown on the Profile screen) and we will find another way to verify you. We respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to your account:

• Your profile: email address, display name, profile picture, user code, time zone
• Your current status in every group, and any status notes
• Your entire status history and the statistics built from it
• Your scheduled and recurring statuses
• Your group memberships, and any groups where you were the only member
• Your friendships, and any pending friend requests or group invitations
• Your block list
• Your push notification token
• Your subscription records
• Your profile picture, and the picture of any group that is deleted along with you — that is, a group you created with nobody else left in it

What does not get deleted

• Groups with other members in them. A group you created carries on for the people still in it; if you were its administrator, that role passes to another member. Your profile and your statuses are gone from it. The group keeps its picture — it belongs to the group rather than to you.
• Reports other people filed about you. Kept for up to 12 months from when the report was filed, then deleted automatically. They survive account deletion on purpose: otherwise closing an account and opening a new one would wipe the record.
• Anything we are legally required to keep.
• Routine backups. Deleted data disappears from backups as they rotate, normally within 30 days.
